This one has been getting a lot of airplay through the IBM notifications system, though I don't think that anyone here has raised it yet. Nonetheless I'll put it up as a posting in case anyone encounters it / searches on it.
The IBM Flash document can be found here.
Abstract
An issue has been identified in certain builds of TM1 software which result in an incorrect value being displayed, and stored, for locales that use a comma as the decimal separator.
Content
This issue has been identified in the following versions of TM1 software:
TM1 9.5.2
TM1 9.5.1 (affects only interim fix HF11 through HF15)
TM1 9.4.1 FP3 (affects only interim fix HF11 through HF15)
The issue occurs when:
The user is using the TM1 Web client or TM1 Contributor client, and
The user has their locale settings set to display a ??,?? (comma) as their decimal point in number formatting, and
The user performs a copy and then paste of a number with a "," as the decimal point.
When a copy/paste is done that includes a decimal point, the decimal point will be converted to an English (US) decimal point
The bottom line is:This issue is logged as APAR PM36280 and we are currently working on a solution.
Though for 9.5.2:An interim fix has been made available for Cognos TM1 9.5.2. It is available from Fix Central. Important information about the fix and installation instructions are available in the Cognos TM1 9.5.2 Interim Fix 2 download document.
Mmmm. This would be the same Fix Central that hasn't seen a single package put on it since 9.4.1, and which people have therefore probably stopped even looking at and/or have forgotten about.
The expression "Make up your naffing mind about what method you want to use to deliver fixes and patches" comes to mind. A link to Fix Central, as with many other areas of ther IBM sites, will be found in the . |
